No Surprise

So the other blog has endorsed again their candidates of choice for the upcoming election. No surprise that they haven't changed their minds since the close of the sign up period. They have stated "We will not encourage the election of candidates that are slinging mud. If they can't stand on their own credibility and accomplishments, they're not worth considering." Supposedly, the blog people have spoken with candidates...of course, no one will know if they have spoken to them...since they have yet to reveal their identity. Some may say that they would get a truer idea of the candidates if they don't know they have a blog...maybe, but how do we know they spoke with any candidate other than the ITCFP people? I personally had a person ask me about the downtown project and whether it would be completed. My answer was "yes" the project has approval and its up to the developer to comply. That the sewer and water permits and road problems still had to be worked out but it would be finished.
They asked about the proposed land purchase. I explained it seemed like a good idea. The purchase didn't mean anything to the downtown project and the new town hall could go over there or even be built on the current location. The land purchase gave the town more options.
I had a guy ask me about LBTD in the grocery store yesterday...I explained that from my perspective and what I knew about the other candidates, that the issue would go before the citizens in a referendum and that it would be up to the people. I was not running to be a moral barometer for 24,000 people.
Larry Kindley...I have seen your post on the other blog and frankly I would like to answer your questions but the only way for me to do that is to have you ask them on my blog. Since the other blog censors every comment that does not agree with theirs, I can't get my answers to you. About your concern for the "ditch digging" you called in in Ms. Howe's neighborhood. The meetings I have attended indicated that that was where the most flooding is occurring and peoples homes are actually flooding(we are in a drought and no one is flooding currently.) The town engineer and staff have a list of the flooding in the town and by far the worse was in this particular neighborhood. The other neighborhoods that are having trouble will be fixed as well and the stormwater fees will fix hopefully all the neighborhoods will be fixed.

LEE GODWIN......If you can comprehend what you read, then go ahead ,answer the questions, they were not directed to any one person. Also I checked to towns minutes and didnt see where you were appointed the ANSWER MAN FOR INDIAN TRAIL.But as usual go ahead and sugar coat it.BY the way,I;m getting a bus load of POLITICAL TERROIST to send up North, there is a few spots on the front bumper.

Larry,
First of all, you are correct. No I have never been elected, appointed, directed, nor authorized to be the Answer man for Indian Trail. However, I can't help but have the knowledge to the questions you ask. After sitting in council and planning board meeting for the past 5 plus years I have gained a whole lot of knowledge first hand about what goes on in the town. Forgive me if I wasn't suppose to have this knowledge apparently it is reserved for those in the town with 50+ years of living here. I believe I can comprehend most of the questions you can ask..as long as you stay away from Calculus and Physics.
I am curious and curiosity is different from comprehending, about your sugar coating comment. What exactly am I sugar coating? I find some of your opinions extreme in nature, maybe due to your family land not being purchased by the town? Your brother losing the previous election or something I don't know about. Strictly speaking, I give you the ability to voice your opinion. Something the other blog doesn't care to share. That is the truth...no way around it. I tell everyone who I am when making comments and will stand behind them with no problem. So please tell me, since you have a forum to speak, what I am sugar coating??

The comment about the "Political Terroist" I won't comment on...it won't be worth arguing about.

The funny thing and I don't know if you know this or not. Your brother a few years ago, told me that I should stop complaining and get involved ie...planning board and all. I took that to heart, and I think the next day put my application in for IT Planning board. The then regime of the town wouldn't hear of appointing me...not a problem...I went to the county and got involved there. Never once in the process missing either a council or planning board meeting in IT. I don't owe you an apology for anything I've done in this town. Its a difference of opinion I guess because I've only done the things I felt are right for Indian Trail as a whole and not a small group of profiteers.

Larry, the land I was talkin about is the piece of land right next to the Raco property...isn't that family land?? What about the acerage on both sides of Gribble that was almost brought to the town as a residential development..or are you not the Kindley that has something to do with either property? If I've got this wrong I apologize for my assumption.

Well Lee the land on Gribble Rd belongs to my grandfathers half brother[which is no blood kin],I used it as an example of wasted taxpayers money,Its like paying 50,000$ for a Yugo when you could buy a Cad,or a Benz. The land beside Raco is part mine but I havent offered it to the town, better check with your SOURCE.

As far as my brother losing,i'm proud to say he did it honestly, without a blog, without passing out flyers in schools, with out going to neighborhoods telling people a bunch of crap(thats why they are upset),you said he told you to quite complaining an get involved,he was gentleman about it,I would have said quite whineing or go back where you came from. You said my opinions were extreme, look in the mirror, yours are plumb STUPID,besides it doesn't look good for someone that is on a board or two to make such comments as you do toward the other council members or mayor,And you asked "why is there so much hatred"look at Your PAC from 2005 till now,if we pulled (the towns people)the same stunts there would have been hecter to pay.

Larry, again I apologize for the assumption on "family" land on Gribble..as far as the land next to Raco, seems it is family land and I don't have a particular source, but it was indicated to me by a couple different people that that property had been offered to the town. If not they must have been mistaken.

Now to your other point. I want to make this perfectly clear. Your brother was very nice to me when I spoke to him. Though he did lose the last election that doesn't change the fact he was always nice and encouraged me to get involved. Whether he was just being polite or not I used it as a catalyst to get involved.
I am not aware of any "pac" that I supposedly belong to? Did I support Schallenkamp and Howe in their election bid...YES!! and would do it again. You seem to believe that passing out literature at school events and meeting people in neighborhoods?? I wasn't with either of them but I can't believe they lied about anything. But if you have examples, please share.
Since my ideas don't agree with yours...mine are somehow "stupid". Whats next, the line ..I am rubber you are glue? Please explain the stupid nature of my ideas??? If they are wrong I have the ability to change if given a decent argument.
Your belief that somehow because I sit on a board that I can't disagree with the board?? Why? I disagreed with the previous council, I have disagreed with the current council...and I simply don't think the Mayor has done what a mayor should do. I would think that whether I was on the board or not...thats the beauty of the country we live in...I can disagree with elected officials.
Finally, it must be killing you a life long resident to have to see 5 people running for council that haven't lived here their entire lives? From your previous comments, I guess the only one you trust is the Mayor right? All the pity in that process, but that is your choice and again the beauty of the system in which we live.
And no matter which side of the Kindley family that owns the land on Gribble...I wouldn't mind seeing the town make a run at it for a park. I think it would be perfect and it would be in the downtown overlay district also.
